DEW research lab is focused in three main areas, Electrospinning, Electrospray and ElectroHydroDynamic printing.
Electrospray or Electrohydrodynamic atomization (EHDA) is a facile method that uses electrostatic fields for dispersing liquids as charged micro- and nano- sized droplets with near size monodispersity.
Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) jetting allows generating submicrometer jets that can reach speeds above 1 m/s, but such jets cannot be precisely collected by too slow mechanical stages. We demonstrate that controlling the voltage applied to electrodes located around the electrified jet, its trajectory can be continuously adjusted to control the jet deposition location, thus allowing to print arbitrary micropatterns.
